ECAL2009 - 10th European Conference on Artificial Life Call for Proposals ****************** ECAL, European Conference on Artificial Life takes place every two years since 1991. The previous editions were held in Brussels (1991), Paris (1993), Granada (1995), Brighton (1997), Lausanne (1999), Prague (2001), Dortmund (2003) Canterbury (2005) and Lisbon (2007). The conference encompasses the large diversity of topics which is the hallmark of the Alife scientific domain. For reference, you may have a look at the website of the last edition in www.ecal2007.org. A call for proposals for the organization of the 2009 edition is now launched. Interested members of the alife community should send a 3 pages proposal containing the identification of the organizing committee and main organizer/s, the host institution, and all other information considered relevant which may include - these are mere suggestions - the conference format, any special thematic organization or focus, financial support, a description of the venue, intended associated events, and every other information that may contribute to the rationale for choosing that proposal. The proposals must be sent by email, in pdf format, until the 15th of October 2007, to ecal2009@ecal2007database.org. The decision process will involve the organizers of previous editions and the alife community al large. Current proposals and details about the decision process will be later presented in www.ecal2007.org/proposals.htm On behalf of the ECAL2007 Organizing Committee, Fernando Almeida e Costa
